Measuring a tree

I needed to have a measure of a tree so with a protractor and a measuring tape for calculating d, I could have somewhat a number of the tree height.

        |\
        | \
        |  \
      h |   \
        |    \
        |     \
        |      \
        |_______\ θ°
            d

h = tree height.

d = distance from tree to where I’m standing on.

θ = Angle of elevation (using protractor) from where I’m standing on.

So, after that, we need to calculate :

\[\tan(\theta) = \frac{h}{d}\]
